9th-12th February Rally Sweden
Sweden

This weekend sees the eagerly awaited winter battle of the second stage of the WRC 2017 in the frozen forests of Sweden and Norway. Whilst the Sweden Rally may be fought for in sub-zero temperatures across treacherous, compacted ice, the competition is certainly hotting up. Toyota made surprise gains in Monte Carlo and Hyundai were unlucky after making initial gains there. Added to this mix was Latvala’s performance in last night’s superspecial stage coming in just 0.6 seconds ahead of Neuville. This morning though has seen the tables turned with Hyundai putting in constant solid performances.

Our nerves here at KAYLAN RALLY were also put further to the test for this stage yesterday as we sat on the edge of our seats watching the tracking of an emergency express parcel of mudflaps that had to arrive in Sweden yesterday. It got there. So if you do need some urgent competition flaps then please, please, please, get your order in with as much time as possible.  Our poor nerves cannot take it. Now for the real excitement, rally on!

11th February Cambrian Rally
Wales

Closer to home, is the UK’s most venerable rally which will be held in the depths of the Welsh forests. Whilst the temperatures may not be as extreme as Sweden, they will be sub-zero in Wales tonight with some snow flurries tomorrow but instead of compacted snow, expect mud and lots of it! Keep your eyes out for the stars of the future. Local boy Elfyn Evans, who is competing with MSPORT this weekend in Sweden, cut his teeth here as did his champion father, Gwyndaf Evans.

There’s plenty more rally action this weekend for those of you brave enough to stand the cold with some thrilling events up and down the islands. That said I think we’ll be putting our feet up with a cuppa to watch the WRC unflold.
